Candidates available to work within Pacific Time Zone hours are preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employment Type: Full-time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Mil Mujeres Legal Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mil Mujeres Legal Services is a multistate nonprofit organization dedicated to providing immigration legal services to low-income survivors of violent crimes and their families. Our primary focus is assisting survivors of gender-based violence, ensuring they receive legal representation and support to navigate the immigration system effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide direct legal representation in humanitarian immigration cases, including U visa, VAWA, and asylum applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct legal screenings and assess eligibility for immigration relief.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain organized, up-to-date case files using case management software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure effective case resolution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and policies, particularly those related to humanitarian relief.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 year of experience in immigration law, with exposure to U visa, VAWA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Preferred:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in asylum cases, including court representation (affirmative and defensive asylum).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Membership in good standing in the bar of any state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why Join Us?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Mil Mujeres, you will be part of a mission-driven team working to empower vulnerable communities.
