Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST (40 hours per week)

About Mil Mujeres Legal Services

Mil Mujeres Legal Services is a multistate nonprofit organization dedicated to providing immigration legal services to low-income survivors of violent crimes and their families. Our primary focus is assisting survivors of gender-based violence, ensuring they receive legal representation and support to navigate the immigration system effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experienced in managing humanitarian immigration cases, especially U visa and VAWA applications.
  • Skilled in assessing legal eligibility and providing client-centered immigration counseling.
  • Proficient in maintaining organized case files using case management systems.
  • Collaborates with paralegals and legal teams to resolve case-related issues.
  • Stays up to date on immigration law and policy changes, with a focus on humanitarian relief.
  • Interested in learning and gaining experience in court representation and asylum cases (affirmative and defensive).

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

  • Required: Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Preferred: Membership in good standing in the bar of any state.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in immigration law, particularly in asylum cases or court cases. 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Compensation

  • Annual Salary: $65,000
  • Quarterly Performance Bonus: We offer a quarterly bonus based on individual performance. This incentive is designed to recognize consistent results and ongoing contributions throughout the year, providing multiple opportunities to earn more.
