About the Organization
Mil Mujeres Legal Services is a nonprofit organization specializing in immigration benefits for survivors of violent crimes and their families. We provide immigration legal services to low-income Latino communities who have been victims of violent crimes in the United States, with a primary focus on gender-based crime survivors.
Role Description
We are seeking a Mail and Document Handler in Denver to support our legal services team. This role involves:
- Visiting the PO Box on a regular basis to collect incoming documents related to Mil Mujeres’ clients.
- Sorting and handling documents to ensure that they are properly categorized and directed.
- Forwarding mail and documents to the appropriate Mil Mujeres office in a timely manner.
- Digitally updating client records by scanning, organizing, and uploading documents to Google Drive or other designated platforms.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the security of sensitive legal documents.
Requirements
- Fluent in English and Spanish (Preferred)
- Reliable transportation to visit the PO Box and send documents as required.
- Ability to handle confidential documents responsibly.
- Strong organizational skills to track and manage legal mail.
- Basic computer skills to upload and organize documents digitally.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $18.81 per hour
- Estimated Hours: Flexible, based on mail volume (approx. 2-4 hours per week)
- Reimbursement: Transportation costs for PO Box visits and mailing documents
